FAQ
FAQ
Q: What will and won't you draw? Anything I should know before commissioning you?
A: Well, basically anything you could wish. As commissions are limited to portraits right now, I obviously won't be drawing anything from the shoulders down, unless indicated differently*. I will do original characters as well as licensed ones, whether they be furry or human. I am not skilled at drawing mecha, so commissioning me to do a full-fledged robot would be very risky. I will not draw a character without reference images or a -very- specific description. I will however design a completely new character or aspects of it for you if requested, but it does cost a little extra*.
Q: Well then, what exactly do I get?
A: A flat large file of your commissioned piece in the format you desire. The most common are formats are (transparent) .png or regular .jpg. It will either be at 72dpi or 300dpi.
Q: Are your rates negotiable?
A: No, they are not. The Extra costs will always vary, and I will of course give you an exact quota before starting work on the commission, but the basic rates stay the same.
Q: How will payment work?
A: I prefer PayPal, as it is the most accessible means to pay digitally, wherever your location may be. However, if you are based in either New Zealand or the Netherlands, I accept bank transfers. USD and EUR are my preferred currencies. I use xe.com to convert, you may do the same.
Q: What will the time frame in which the commission will be done look like?
A: Usually, I will deliver the image(s) two weeks after receiving payment. However, if I am in some way prohibited from doing so, I will inform you and we'll discuss further proceedings. In this two week period, you can request to see a WIP, that is, a 'work in progress' shot, of your commission.
Q: How about communication then?
A: You can email me any time if you have any questions about your pending commission using the email address listed below under Contact. You should get a response within two days. If this is not the case, please poke me again. Technology fails sometimes.
Q: Can I use the piece I commissioned for my website layout/icons/forum signature?
A: Yes, of course, as long as you give proper credit to me. Non-profit use is fine. It would also be great if you could stick a link back to this place somewhere *nudgenudge*. Refer to the 'Usage' post below for specifics on what the images I create may not be used for.
Q: As a non-commissioner, is it okay to take any of your pictures and use them somewhere?
A: No. You do not own the rights to do so without either paying for them or obtaining my written consent. Again, refer to the 'Usage' post below for specifics on what the images I create may not be used for.
Q: Can we exchange links?
A: Of course, I'd be happy to. Make sure you supply me a banner that is 200x40 and I will stick it in the Links post below. You can find mine there as well.
